The =THB= tag goes back more than a few years but our origins reach way back into antiquity, or shall I say more than a decade.
In the mid nineties Sojoe and I began having LAN parties at my place. We gathered as many as 8 people on a peer-to-peer LAN to play Age of Empires, Total Annihilation, Doom and Duke Nukem, Star Craft and more. It was intensly fun with drinks and pizza all around. We used folding tables and chairs in a U-shape and had extension cords running to every separate circuit in the house and 50' into the garage! We used "first person" speak instead of teamspeak and your enemy might be sitting next to you with a full view of your "hidden forces"! From that humble beginning David(Sojoe) and I began to envision a LAN club we called "CyberCade" and how we might somehow get it online for LAN competitions. Life had its way of delaying our dream for many years until 2003. We talked often about forming an online gaming community in late 2004. Next Sojoe gets a new job and meets two co-workers Randy(TheOneManClan) and Adrian(Lt.Stone) who are also long-time PC gamers and they begin playing together. May 2005 rolls around and David, Randy and Adrian are looking for another team mate to play Far Cry. With some convincing David talks me into playing a First Person Shooter, a die-hard RTS gamer I had sworn off FPS games years before!!! So the four founders of THB were joined into a cohesive team. OneManCLan discovers the mod BF1942: Desert Combat and it becomes an interest while anticipating BF2 release due end of June 05. The first weekend in July 2005 BF2 becomes a hit with the team and we officially form our clan. We wore +NGL+ tags for a couple months but used the =THB= TS server until a friend of Randy's gives up the =THB= domain and clan tag. By late Summer 2005 =THB= is fully operational. We run with 4 members until Fall 2005 then began to recruit others into our club. We emphasized teamwork, communication, integrity and maturity as the founding principles of membership. The combination was irresistable and we developed the teamwork approach with the squad as the main building block of Strategic Style BF2. We had a few "home" servers, not our own, but began having trouble because of the restrictive rules and team busting admins not allowing us to play together. So Spring 2006 Randy stepped up and got our first BF2 Ranked server started, we all pitched in and got her going. The 64 player map with 44 slots creates "manuever room" and using original game design as the basis for our rules we have a popular server for strategic players. Through ups and downs we have maintained our teamwork focussed club as close to the original concept as possible. Late in 2006 we added Frank(DaOtherOne) as another core member and began teaming up with other clubs, The Bjunkies, Wikings, FallenAngels[BF2 Division], 99th ASTAG, SiN Group and a loose association of compaņeros known as The Three Amigos, all of these groups with their own legacies. Today we have gamers from all over who play many online multiplayer games as =THB=. I am sure we have more history to write so let's write it... Ops
