Sorry Guys

Well, after the incredible amount of work, and including Frank sending me an awesome video card replacement for mine that died, I have to come to the realization that I simply cannot compete at this game. I am sure it's a combination of incompetence and a really crappy computer, but these guys are killing me before I even see them. I've had a couple of ok games (by that I mean a KDR near 1) but most of them have been quite sad. It's not too much fun to die 3-5 times more than you get kills. IDK. I think the only people who really enjoy this game must have alienware systems. Maybe if I win the Lotto.

Oh well.

Me too!

Sojoe - believe it or not, I can relate just a little bit. I made the mistake of going to Windows 7 and since then my KDR has taken a killing. Supposedly, Win7 caused my network latency to double and now I have this comparatively high ping (compared to GD and my previous Windows XP ping) that it definitely has affected my ability to play at the level I was at prior to Win7. I even bought a new PCI LAN adapter thinking that maybe the Win7 drivers just weren't right for my dated mobo but that didn't help.

I had almost a 0.91 KDR and now it is back down to 0.86. That's lower than when I first started playing the damn game!

I am hoping that an upgrade of Mobo, mem, & CPU will help as it can't be my video card.

Hang in there bud. Try to squad up with us - at least we can suffer together!

Well sorry to hear about that . if you want I can take a look at your PC sometime and see whats up, since I don't live to far away. Sometimes it also depends on the server you play on. On good servers sometimes I will get a KDR of 4 but then on crappy servers I will get a KDR of .3 so it all depends. GD and Taco usually play on good servers. On those bad servers I have the same problem as you and its not fun . So next time you head to the beach or Ventura area hit me up. my number is (805) 256-5704. I also work at Fry's so you can find me there too. good luck bro

P.S. you should come check out Fry's soon. I just demo'ed 3 new bada$$ gaming computers! 2 Alienware desktops and an Acer Predator that I hooked the 3d up to and hope to install BFBC2 on it today, so you can see what its like to play BFBC2 in Nvidia 3D Vision.

This is the hack to correct the WIN 7 issue.

* Open regedit
* Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
* There will be an entry for network performance throttling, default value is 10; set it to FFFFFFFF hex (willl look like 0xFFFFFFFF to the right of the entry)
* Reboot

I will try that Reg hack Frank. Thanks for that.

Cpt Derrek, will definately hit you up next week when I come back from my nieces wedding. Would love to see that in 3D.

What server have you guys been playing on? I'm pretty sure anyone who goes medic will score 10000+ point if he just follows me into battle. LOL!

Thumbs up

Thats how Taco gathers so many points in this game, by playing medic and following me around. One change that has been made in BC2 contributing to the poor KDR is that you get credited for a death each time you are "killed" regardless of being "revived", unlike the other Battlefield games. Like Taco has pointed out, it does however, save the loss of a diminishing point for the team. Unfortunately, my experience has been that I am almost always revived with an empty weapon, setting me up for another death.

Gotta love it! Let's squad up some evening and help each other out.

I'm always the only medic!

The other problem with this game is that I seem to be the only medic around! I never get revived but I'm always doing the reviving!

Well after my last post I decided to specialize, and I chose medic. Before I was just playing a little of everything and my guns were crap!Since then it's been better.

Where are you guys playing anyway?
